[Syracuse, New York], November 19, 2024—MarketDesign Consulting Inc. (MDCo), a tech-focused consulting firm with an international footprint, is proud to have supported this year's Susan G. Komen® More than Pink Walk. Through the participation of employees and the generosity of supporters, MarketDesign raised $2,748, with total charitable contributions surpassing $35,000. Employees from New York, New Jersey, Nebraska, Kentucky, and Florida participated in the walk-where-you-are event; a meaningful way to make an impact in local communities while walking in solidarity with the millions who have been touched in some way by this disease.
MDCo participates annually in initiatives supporting cancer awareness. Driven by personal connections to the cause, the funds raised support critical cancer research, screenings, diagnostics, treatment assistance, and patient services. Overall, the event has raised nearly half a million dollars with the fundraising window open until November 24th.
“I’ve seen firsthand what happens when awareness turns into action. We need more than just acknowledgment; we need commitment—the vulnerability to ask for help, to admit that you can’t do it all alone,” remarks Kara Rudy, Founder + COO of MarketDesign, who has made giving back to charity an intrinsic part of the company's mission since its inception in 2018. This October, as we have done at MDCo since I founded the company in 2018, we’re stepping up—matching every dollar raised as we walk to support breast cancer research until there is a cure. This isn’t just another walk. It’s a walk for the people who’ve fought, for the families who’ve been affected, and for the future we’re all hoping for—a future where breast cancer no longer has the power to claim the lives of those we love.
We walk because every step, every dollar, brings us closer to that future. We walk for our mothers, our daughters, our sisters, our friends, and ourselves. And we walk because we know that we can’t do this alone. It takes a village, a community, to bring about real change.
This isn’t just about survivors, though we honor their strength. It’s also about those who stand beside them, those who offer support, who listen, who take action. This month, we celebrate that spirit—the resilience, the vulnerability, the connection that binds us all together in this fight."
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States, with an estimated 297,790 new cases of invasive breast cancer expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S. in 2024. Additionally, about 2,790 new cases are anticipated in men. These statistics underscore the critical importance of ongoing research, early detection, and effective treatment strategies.
